Person Woman Man Camera TV -- Trump PROUD that he aced that five-word cognitive test
Shane Goldmacher @ShaneGoldmacher tweeted this video on 23 July with the caption: Trump’s description of a cognitive test is mesmerizing
Donald Trump recently (and repeatedly) bragged that he aced a test of his mental ability. The test that he is so proud of having taken, is the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Test, which is used for assessment of memory loss and/or early warning signs of dementia. This cognitive screening test requires one to perform a host of simple tasks such as identifying animals and drawing a clock. It is NOT an IQ test, and it emphatically does not aim to identify people of superior intelligence. It only determines that the taker is not suffering from mild cognitive dysfunction. It only takes about 10 minutes and is generally easy for most people, unless, of course, they are suffering from dementia.
So, President Donald Trump seems to be trumpeting that having aced this test is his job qualification for being POTUS. If not having dementia is a qualification, then indeed, Trump deserves applause and also your vote in the forthcoming election on November 3.
However, it seems Americans generally believe that the Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden, is more mentally fit, whereas Trump has been giving off distinct signs of being a bit goofy in the head.
Trump has boasted on television that doctors at the Walter Reed Medical Center, where he took the test, were "very surprised" and impressed, evidently telling him, "That's an unbelievable thing. Rarely does anybody do what you just did." Which has just made Trump a laughing stock.
