One Bhagtani in police custody, two absconding. What next?

Image
Mumbai, 19th January, 2018: Yesterday, Diipesh Bhagtani was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate and his police custody was extended till Monday, 22nd Jan. He will be produced again on Monday, and possibly remanded to judicial custody for some weeks or months. Alternatively, he may be released and immediately re-arrested for Savannah and Sapphire FIRs as he doesn't have anticipatory bail. Everything depends on what the EOW bosses are thinking and how forcefully the public prosecutor argues before the magistrate. If the public prosecutor  argues convincingly, Diipesh may spend months in Arthur Road or Byculla jail. Earlier, time was Bhagtanis' best friend. That friendshop broke last Thursday when Bombay High Court dismissed their anticipatory bail application ( Read the order ), and EOW arrested Diipesh Bhagtani. Now time is Bhagtani's enemy, because every passing day increases the chances Diipesh will lose his marbles during police interrogation. The police ...

Justice Badar's sudden change of ringtone

Mumbai, 14th October, 2017: There was astonishment at the high court hearing of Bhagtani builders' anticipatory bail application no. 1533, because Justice A M Badar seemed to suddenly forget the previous orders passed on 29th September and, crucially, the one passed on 3rd October ! The main point of the last order was, "Statement made in affidavit of applicant Diipesh regarding depositing of Rs. 22 Crores is accepted as provisional payment which shall take care of interest of investors. In addition thereto, the applicants are directed to submit list of all persons who booked apartment in the incomplete project ''Bhagtani Riyo''. The list to show the amount deposited by each investors as well as the amount payable to each investor considering the rate of interest at 15% or agreed rate of interest per annum as on the date of submission of list. The list alongwith affidavit of the applicant be tendered on 12th October 2017." On 12th October, Aila, ...

R-ADAG caught swindling Rs 1,000 cr from 7 State Govts

Mumbai, 25th January, 2017: Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG) was caught with its hands in the proverbial cookie jar, and that too by the Supreme Court! R-ADAG tried to twist the terms of its Power Purchase Agreement with seven states, and make a profit of well over Rs 1,000/- crore by making the states count one day as one year (31st March 2013 is the previous financial year, and 1st April 2013 is the next financial year. Get it?) And moreover, when All Indian Power Engineers' Federation (AIPEF) blew the whistle and prevented it, R-ADAG tried to sue AIPEF's office-bearers for damages of Rs 1,000 crore! Ulta chor kotwal ko dante! The true significance of Supreme Court’s 8th December 2016 judgment on Reliance's Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) Commercial Operation Date (COD) has gone unreported. Mainstream media has avoided reporting important things about this case, namely: 1) By exploiting a loophole in the Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) signed with...

Stop diverting Respect from the Living, to Give Respect to the Dead, the HIstorical, the Imaginary & the Non-Existent

Every time someone tries to force you to respect an inanimate object, a dead person, an ideology or an institution, they indirectly steal your self-respect from you. By making you "respect" the dead and the non-living, they make you respect yourself less. And they make you respect other people less -- people who are alive. Respect is a currency in our social lives. It is a scarce and precious currency. This is a diversion of respect from those who are alive, to those who are dead, or those who were never alive in the first place. I object to such diversion. When I talk about respect, I talk about all the forms of respect.  Respect for the non-living and non-existent manifests itself in many forms. It manifests as worship and devotion. As fear and awe. As blind following and blind faith. As a refusal to think and question. As a refusal to act rightly, or speak out, when violence is being inflicted upon the living. Without thinking, without questioning, people say ...

Anti-RTI Judgment Shields INSANE Judges

Image
Is Supreme Court shielding INSANE JUDGES? Did a bench headed by CJI Dattu rule against giving RTI information about judges' medical expenses on Thursday, to prevent the public from knowing which judges take prescription-drugs for MENTAL ILLNESSES? These judges may arguably be impeached on grounds of being unable to discharge their duties because of "unsound mind". Image: http://tinyurl.com/Insane-Judge-RTI Here's a list of High Court judges in India: http://tinyurl.com/HC-Judges-list Are we saying that out of these 650-odd judges, not even one is taking treatment for Schizophrenia? Or Alzheimer's disease? Or Bipolar Disorder? It is statistically impossible to have a 100% perfect population of judges. Not having a mechanism for weeding out the nutty ones means inflicting defective judgments on the unsuspecting and defenseless citizens of India! Warm Regards, Krishnaraj Rao 9821588114 Mumbai

Judges are tilting the scales of justice with habitual high-handedness

Image
Indian judiciary is NOT acting like a justice delivery system of a democratic country. It is acting like a colonial ruler, an absolute power over Indian citizens. Whatever our courts are delivering cannot be called JUSTICE --    they can only be called "orders" or "judgments". For there to be justice, there must necessarily be timeliness, uniform application of laws and availability to all sections of society. http://tinyurl.com/Indian-judge-scales Krishnaraj Rao 9821588114

In Independent India, do we have an ANGREZ JUDICIARY?

Image
The Judiciary is acting almost like an alien ruler, giving its own STRANGE INTERPRETATION & TWIST to the laws passed by our elected legislature. With inscrutable orders, reliefs, judgments & procedures, judiciary makes our own laws incomprehensible to the Indian citizen and even our elected government. Implementing agencies and citizens alike are paralyzed by uncertainty, thanks to judiciary's unpredictability... because judiciary often upholds and protects obvious wrongdoers who encroach on the rights of the common man, e.g. big corporates and builders. "Independent judiciary" cannot be independent of WE THE PEOPLE. Otherwise, it amounts to a loss of Indian citizens' sovereignty. Like  ·  Comment  ·  Share
