Is Supreme Court shielding INSANE JUDGES? Did a bench headed by CJI Dattu rule against giving RTI information about judges' medical expenses on Thursday, to prevent the public from knowing which judges take prescription-drugs for MENTAL ILLNESSES? These judges may arguably be impeached on grounds of being unable to discharge their duties because of "unsound mind". Or Alzheimer's disease? Or Bipolar Disorder? It is statistically impossible to have a 100% perfect population of judges. And that's really why the Supreme Court bench presided over by Chief Justice H L Dattu yesterday rejected a plea for disclosing medical expenditures of judges and their family under RTI. “There should be some respect for privacy and if such information (is) disclosed, there will be no stopping,” the bench told advocate Prashant Bhushan. The Chief Justice of India needs to break his sphinx-like silence and speak up. Is Justice Karnan an RTI activist and whistleblower who has exposed a major fraud by Justice Dhanapalan, and also exposed a flaw in the judicial selection system? Or is he a quarrelsome and cantankerous person who has lost his sense of judgment? C S Karnan recently asked CBI to inquire into the educational qualificati ons Justice V Dhanapalan -- a brother-judge in Madras High Court. In a signed letter addressed to the joint director of CBI in Chennai, Justice Karnan alleged that bogus qualifications were shown by Justice Dhanapalan. He is supposed to have studied at Dr Ambedkar Government Law College from 1980 to 1983, enrolled as an advocate in the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu, and obtained a master's degree in law from University of Madras in 1987.
